China successfully launched its spacecraft Shenzhou-12 from Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center at 9:22 a.m. on June 17 (Beijing Time). They sent three astronauts i.e. Nie Haisheng, Liu Boming, and Tang Hongbo to the core module of the China's permanent space station. This is the third time that Nie Haisheng, a fellow from Hubei province has gone to space with the other two missions being Shenzhou-6 and Shenzhou-10. The trio is expected to stay in space for three months as part of the country's space station mission before returning home at the Dongfeng Landing Site.

北京时间6月17日9时22分神舟十二号载人飞船在酒泉卫星发射中心点火发射。飞行乘组由航天员聂海胜、刘伯明和汤洪波组成，聂海胜担任指令长。这是湖北人聂海胜第三次飞天，此前他参加过神舟六号、神舟十号载人飞行任务。三名航天员在天和核心舱驻留约3个月后返回，搭乘神舟十二号载人飞船返回舱返回东风着陆场。

The plum rain season in Wuhan started on June 16, according to the Wuhan Meteorological Bureau. This year's plum rain season will not be as typical as usual. There will be less precipitation than last year, yet stronger convective weather in some areas is expected. The bureau pointed out that Wuhan will be dominated by cloudy weather from June 21 to 24, and the rainy days will begin on around June 25.

根据武汉市气象部门分析，武汉预计从6月16日开始进入梅雨期。今年梅雨特征不典型，梅雨量较2020年明显偏少，但局部地强对流天气发生的可能性依然较大。6月21日到24日我市以多云天气为主；6月25日左右，我市可能又有一段降水天气发生。

Wuhan was among the top 10 tourism cities during the Dragon Boat Festival this year, according to Ctrip. As the temperature continued to rise, "waterfront areas during the day + performances at night" became the trending form that differed it from activities during other holidays. More young tourists chose to visit local landmarks which are popular online. Along Lihuangpi Road, in front of the Pinghe Packaging Factory, beside the "lonely tree" at the Qingshan Riverside Park, on the Yangsigang Yangtze River Bridge, and on the Gutian Bridge, there were young tourists busily taking photos.

The Seventh Lotus Exhibition with more than 400 varieties of lotus in Shahu Park kicked off on June 11. The rare Bingdi lotus and the double-heart lotus are the most eye-catching and interesting ones of the exhibition this year. The lotus-themed exhibition will last for one month.

6月11日，2021年沙湖公园第七届荷花展正式开幕，共展出荷花400余个品种，还有罕见双心莲和并蒂莲。这场武汉最亲民最热闹的荷花盛会，将持续整整一个月。

Dongmenzhai Village in Huangpi District has been surrounded by four large gardens of Gardenia jasminoides, where a unique aroma released by the white gardenias in full blossom is enchanting. This village, which is acknowledged as the most fragrant place of Wuhan in summer, owns 20 thousand Gardenia jasminoides trees and produces 4-8 million white gardenias each year. It provides 50% of the Gardenia jasminoides for the flower markets in Wuhan.

在黄陂区东门砦村，四大片栀子花田围绕着村子，空气中弥漫着浓浓的栀子花香。这里是武汉最香的地方。这里出产的栀子花，占据了武汉栀子花市场的“半壁江山”。全村约有花树20000多棵，每年可出产400～800万朵栀子花。
