The lunar samples were delivered to 13 domestic research organizations working on 31 scientific projects, including the Chinese Academy of Sciences, China University of Geosciences (Beijing), China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), and Sun Yat-sen University. According to Liu Jizhong, director of the center, more samples are planned to be released and delivered in the future. Liu hopes that more research institutions will take part in the lunar sample study.

On the afternoon of July 12, Changjiang Daily spoke by phone with Wang Zaizong and He Qi, teachers of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) who went to Beijing to receive the lunar samples, as they were waiting at the high-speed railway station there on their return to Wuhan. They said that they would detail the research plan for the samples and start it soon after they returned to Wuhan.
