Bamboo bed festival opens | 汉口里竹床文化节开幕啦

The Hankouli Bamboo Bed Cultural Festival kicked off on July 16. More than 100 bamboo beds have been put in place at the festival to enable visitors to re-experience the traditional Wuhan way of cooling off on hot summer nights.

7月16日晚，武汉园博园汉口里竹床文化节开幕，百余张竹床重现武汉夏夜纳凉习俗。

The beds have been placed on Hankouli's eastern square and near the opera stage. Sitting on them, people can fan themselves, watch open-air movies, enjoy theatrical performances and eat snacks. Booth scenes reminiscent of the old days of Wuhan have been set up during the festival inviting visitors to take pictures and shoot live-stream videos. There is also a night market with catering services.

竹床分别布设在园博园东门广场和汉口里大戏台附近。市民可在现场席床而坐，摇着蒲扇，看露天电影，欣赏文艺演出，品尝美食。现场还设置有旧时光的美好打卡点，方便市民拍照、直播, 并提供餐饮夜市。

People can also enjoy cultural activities at night. There are free open-air movies every evening from Sunday to Thursday in front of the Hankouli Guild Hall of Shanxi and Shaanxi. On Friday and Saturday, people can attend the Wild Wolf Disco, the roller skating and skateboard show, the street dance show, the aerobics cheerleading show, and the freestyle basketball show.

在体验竹床乘凉的同时，市民还能观赏夜间文化活动。其中周日到周四夜间，汉口里山陕会馆门前将免费放映露天电影；周五至周六则安排野狼Disco、滚轴旱冰秀、街舞秀、健美操啦啦队、篮球表演等主题表演。

The festival has been held three times so far. This year it will end on August 31.

据悉，汉口里竹床文化节至今已举办了三届。今年的竹床节将于8月31日结束。
