At 10:06:22 a.m. on Aug. 8, 2021, Tiangong, China's space station, passed over Wuhan. Our reporter took some photos and a video of the station at the exact moment (that lasted only 0.68 seconds) from the Huangtu Highway in Huangpi District when the sun, the space station and the camera came into alignment.

2021年8月8日上午10点06分22秒，中国空间站从武汉上空过境。记者在黄陂区黄土公路上寻找到太阳、中国空间站、相机三点一线的位置，记录下这神奇的时刻。整个凌日过程仅0.68秒。

Wuhan's GDP ranks fifth among sub-provincial cities

武汉上半年GDP位居副省级城市第五位

Provinces and cities across the country have recently released the latest data related to their economic situations for the first half of 2021. Among the 15 sub-provincial cities in China, Wuhan ranks fifth in the total economic aggregate, with the top four being Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Chengdu and Hangzhou.

近期，全国各省市相继公布了2021年上半年经济运行数据。在全国15个副省级城市中，武汉半年经济总量位列第五位，前四位分别为深圳、广州、成都与杭州。

Foreign trade increases by more than 40 percent in the first seven months

Wuhan Customs announced on Aug. 11 that Wuhan's total import-export market reached RMB 179.55 billion in value between January and July this year, an increase of 42.6 percent over the same period in 2019. Accounting for 62.5 percent of the value of Hubei's total import-export market, the value of Wuhan's total import-export market consists of RMB 83.48 billion in imports and RMB 96.07 billion in exports.

8月11日，武汉海关对外发布，2021年1-7月，武汉市进出口1795.5亿元，比2019年同期增长42.6%，占全省进出口总值的62.5%。其中，出口960.7亿元，进口834.8亿元。

6-year-old draws pictures of Chinese gold medalists

Mengmeng, a 6-year-old girl from Wuhan, posted her hand-drawn scenes of Chinese gold medalists on her microblog on Aug. 8. The cute drawings won the praises of many netizens. The gold medal winner who impresses Mengmeng most is Yang Qian. Mengmeng said that Yang is not only good at shooting, but also is a curve wrecker at Tsinghua University. Mengmeng hoped that she could study at the Academy of Arts & Design of Tsinghua University in the future.

8月8日，6岁的武汉小女孩萌萌在微博上晒出她手绘的中国奥运健儿夺金场景。Q版的奥运选手在她的画笔下可爱又萌萌哒，引来网友关注。令萌萌印象最深刻的是杨倩，她说，杨倩不仅射击厉害，而且还是清华大学的学生，她希望长大后能上清华美院。

Surprising birthday gift in quarantine

隔离期间的惊喜生日礼物

On Aug. 6, Wen Qian, a Wuhan citizen being quarantined at a local hotel, welcomed her 30th birthday. The hotel prepared a bouquet of sunflowers along with a birthday card for her as a surprise. Wen took a photo of her birthday gift and posted it on the internet. The moving story attracted many netizens who considered it as an evidence of the romance of the Chinese people.

8月6日，武汉姑娘文倩在被隔离的酒店内迎来了她的30岁生日，隔离酒店为她准备了一捧向日葵花束作为生日惊喜，花束里还有生日贺卡。她拍下了花束，发布到网上，不少网友留言：也许这就是中国人的浪漫。

Students win national opera award

小学生摘下戏曲“小梅花”

The reviewing results of the 25th "little plum blossom opera award for Chinese children" were recently announced. Three operas from Wuhan won the honor of "little plum blossom." Established in 1997 and sponsored by the Chinese Theater Association, the award is a national and high-standard activity for children's opera performances. In recent years, students from many primary and secondary schools in Wuhan have won honors in this activity.

第二十五届“中国少儿戏曲小梅花荟萃”评审结果近日公布，来自武汉的3个剧（节）目全部获得“小梅花”荣誉。“中国少儿戏曲小梅花荟萃”活动创办于1997年，是中国戏剧家协会主办的一项全国性、高规格的少儿戏曲展演活动。近几年，武汉市多所中小学的学生在该活动中斩获荣誉。
