Hubei's first movable bridge starts construction | 湖北首座开启桥开建

The north section of You'an Avenue to be constructed by the Wuhan Urban Construction Group officially broke ground on Aug. 13. It is expected to be completed and open to traffic by the end of 2023. The project, which includes a movable bridge with a lifting deck, will bring convenience to nearly 500,000 people in Qingshan District.

8月13日，由武汉城建集团负责建设的右岸大道北段工程正式开工，预计2023年年底建成通车。该工程将使青山区近50万人口出行更加方便，还将建成我省首座桥面可以升降的开启桥。

Extending to the Jianshe No. 11 Road in the west and to the Jiaosha No. 2 Road in the east, the two-way, six-lane avenue will have a designated top speed of 50 km / h. Its total length will be 7,187 meters, consisting of a 6,450-meter ground section and a 737-meter bridge section.

本次开工建设的右岸大道北段，西至建设十一路，东至焦沙二路，双向6车道，设计时速50公里。全长7187米，其中，地面道路段长6450米，桥梁段长737米。

As the project will span the Wugang Industrial Port, the avenue needs to meet the port's navigational requirements. A movable bridge which can be vertically lifted, therefore, will be built as part of the avenue. It will have a main span of 95 meters. This type of bridge is rarely seen in China. At present, only the Tianjin Haimen Bridge and the Wenzhou Ounan Bridge are of this type in the country. After the completion of the project, Hubei province will welcome its first movable bridge.

该项目上跨武钢工业港，由于有通航需求，因此将建设一座垂直升降开启桥的桥型，这种桥型在国内较罕见，仅有天津海门大桥、温州瓯南大桥采用。建成后，将成为湖北省首座开启桥，桥梁主跨径95米。
