Third runway of Tianhe International Airport to be constructed | 天河机场第三跑道将开建

The Hubei ProvincialDevelopment and ReformCommission revealed recentlythat the feasibility study reportof the third runway project ofWuhan Tianhe InternationalAirport has been approved bythe National Development andReform Commission, markingkey progress in the preliminary work of the project.

日前湖北省发改委发布消息，国家发改委已批复武汉天河机场第三跑道工程可行性研究报告，标志着该项目前期工作取得关键进展。

The runway, with anestimated total investment ofRMB 3.08 billion, will handle63 million passengers and800,000 tonnes of cargoannually. The entire projectinvolves building a 3,200m-long and 45m-wide runwayand its corresponding taxiway system, along with the airtraffic control facilities.

据了解，项目按照满足年旅客吞吐量6300万人次、货邮吞吐量80万吨目标设计，估算总投资30.8亿元，主要包括机场工程和空管工程。项目拟新建一条长3200米、宽45米的第三跑道及相应滑行道系统。

Upon completion, theproject will effectively improvethe comprehensive supportcapacity and service level ofWuhan Tianhe InternationalAirport and the functions ofHubei as a double-frame airlinehub.

项目建成后，将有效提升武汉天河机场综合保障能力和服务水平，更好发挥湖北民航客货“双枢纽”功能 。
