Hangzhou is set to fully utilize green power as the regular power supply for all 56 competition venues. According to State Grid Hangzhou Electric Power Supply, some of the green electricity used for the Asian Games is photovoltaic power transmitted from such areas as Qinghai Province, Jiayuguan in Gansu Province and northwest China's Loess Plateau. Wind power from Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region also plays a significant role. A monocrystalline bifacial photovoltaic module in Qinghai Province can generate an average daily output of 2.2 kilowatt-hours, which is capable of powering an energy-efficient lamp in the venue continuously for 220 hours.

Since the inception of green energy trading for the Hangzhou Asian Games, the total traded volume of electricity had reached 621 million kilowatt-hours as of the first half of this year, equivalent to saving 76,000 tons of standard coal.
