Barbados ambassador to China: CIFTIS creates new opportunities for deeper cooperation

Barbados Ambassador to China Hallam Henry told China News Network in an interview that the CIFTIS is an important platform to showcase services, talent, and professional expertise, while creating new opportunities for Barbados to promote its tourism and service sectors.

He noted that the service industry accounts for about 80 percent of Barbados’ economy, with tourism playing a particularly significant role. Barbados hopes to attract more Chinese tourists and promote deeper cooperation between the two countries in services and trade via the platform.

In addition, the Ambassador emphasized that cultural exchange and people-to-people interaction are vital foundations of bilateral relations.

He highlighted that Barbados’ unique music, cuisine, and culture are gradually becoming familiar to Chinese people, which not only helps enhance mutual understanding and friendship but also lays a stronger foundation for trade and economic cooperation. He stressed that with greater visa facilitation and the rapid development of digital services, China is opening up further to welcome tourists and investors worldwide. Barbados, he added, looks forward to expanding cooperation with China in tourism, trade, and cultural exchange.
