[The International Style Of Wuhan]Andrey: Dancing in Wuhan

　　"My dream is to dance in Wuhan and bring different dances to local people," said Andrey, a man from Russia who is a dancer in Wuhan Qindao Night Theater.

　　In recently years, foreigners can be seen in Wuhan in theaters and bars as full-time performers. 27-year-old Andrey is just one of them.

　　Andrey started to learn dancing at 5 and was professionally trained in college for 5 years. He was proficient in folk dance, ballet, jazz, hip-hop, etc.

　　"Before I came to Wuhan, I went to many places as Beijing, Haerbin, Zhengzhou. I came to Wuhan 2 years ago and decided to stay here as I found out that Wuhan has prosperous performance market where I can earn more money". He added. Andrey also bring some friends from his hometown to Wuhan.

　　The Russian dancing performance team in Wuhan Qindao Night was formed by three boys and three girls from 21 to 27. Andrey is the only team member who can speak Chinese. "I am now studying Chinese in Wuhan University and still find it difficult to understand," Andrey said. "Other Russian dancers barely communicate with Chinese team members but we know how to coordinate with each other as music and dances are our common languages."

　　The life of Andrey and his friends are simple and happy. "We all love Wuhan and enjoy Wuhan Happy Valley. After the performances, we go out eating and drinking." Andrey also knew some Russian students in Wuhan as well as the Russian female performers in Happy Valley. "We often gather together. It is great to know friends from hometown," Andrey said.

　　Andrey of course missed his home and family. "I often chatted with my parents via MSN. We have a holiday of one-month annually and can go back home. I often buy Russia-imported food from Carrefour, WAL-MART, Metro. And sometimes I made Russian style food myself," Andrey said.

　　Andrey was unaccustomed to the hot weather and spicy food in Wuhan when he came to the city two years ago. "But now I have slowly into the Wuhan life and witnessed changes every day". Statistics show that 13,000 foreigners are studying, working and living in Wuhan every year while 1.5 million come annually for tourism. "Wuhan is on its way into an international city and I hope to see its development and prosperity," Andrey said.
