  [The International Style Of Wuhan]KL Lua: Forge a 4S store with creativity

  "Wuhan is my land of fortune. I wanna express my gratitudes to her for making my business real." KL Lua, Lai Guanlin as his Chinese name, said in a coffee bar in Wuhan, capital of central China's Hubei Province in  December, 2013.

  42 years-old KL Lua came from Malaysia, with his father being a Malaysian Chinese and mother being a Thai.After 6 years studying Chinese in Malaysia, Lua came alone to Shanghai in 1999 and served as a sales manager in a local company and received an opportunity for promotion in its Beijing branch office in 2001. Three years later, Lua came to Wuhan to start his business as a sino-foreign joint venture for brand image design.

  As to why in Wuhan, Lua said:" After several investigation and prudent decisions, I personally believed that Wuhan is a city with huge development potentials, especially in automobile industry." He added:" I sensed the opportunities."

  The brand image design Lua talked about include CI and VI. Ci stands for Corporate Identity while VI is short for Visual Identity.

  Lua's customers ranges from Mercedes Benz ATC, GE (Europe) to other giants in automobile such as Dongfeng Peugeot, Guangqi Honda and DongFeng Citroen. His firm, Brand Building Consultant (China) Co.,Ltd., offers service for these 4S stores on marketing field image design, including design for store logo, furniture , booth and layout.

  He emphasized that 4S automobile stores in Wuhan should also be internationalized. "Take Peugeot Auto for example, brand images of 4S stores in both Paris and Wuhan should be unified while there will be minor adjustments for the ones in Wuhan due to different national conditions. " Luo said. That is within the service range of his company, according to him.

  Luo reminded of one of his successful cases. In 2004, Dongfeng Peugeot needed a company logo of 1.8 meters, which is, in their mind, beyond the capability of local Chinese company. As an unknown company, Lua with his Brand Building company worked till midnight for several days and finally conquered the case, which was a win-win for both sides. After that, Lua's design company opened a new page for business.

  Unlike many Chinese traditional companies, Lua never employ relatives. He believed that this will result in job-hopping crisis due to lacking of mutual trusts.

  He will also share his business experience without hesitation to his employees. "It is a virtuous circle if I teach all I could to my team member. This will be a motivation for me to learn more."

  Lua believes that Wuhan is experiencing the most vigorous decade, but haze and traffic jam are the pains for its rapid development. "I hope environmental pollution will not be the sacrifice for its development." Lua said.

  Lua sold his company in July this year, but never gave up his dream. " I want to go around to other countries recently, digging up fresh business opportunities. If there are applicable projects, I will introduce them into Wuhan." He said. "Wuhan is the first place to realize my dream, I hope there will be more and more dreams come true in this land."
