Recently, a video blogger named “I"m Bapi” has gained more than one million followers online. After watching her video on imitating the make-up looks of characters in A Dream of Red Mansions, netizens exclaimed, “It"s exactly the same!” “Is it an imitation? I thought it was the original one!” Many netizens also praised her acting skills, saying “your acting is way better than some versions of A Dream of Red Mansions!”, “Her body gestures and facial expressions are so good!” , and “You would make the perfect make-up director and be of good help in improving the quality of Chinese costume dramas.”

11月3日，“我是扒皮呀”的创作者周佳琪，接受极目新闻记者采访说，没想到视频会这么火。原本学医的她，在大学期间投身于短视频创作，本来是为了赚点零花钱，但后来粉丝越来越多，她就以此为职业了。

Zhou Jiaqi, the creator of the channel, said in an interview with a Jimu journalist on November 3rd that she did not expect the video to go that viral. At first, she studied medicine in college. Zhou Jiaqi, a 25-year-old versatile beauty blogger from Wuhan, decided to take on the challenge of filming A Dream of Red Mansions on a short video platform. She imitated unique characters in A Dream of Red Mansions, such as Jia Baoyu, Wang Xifeng, Jia Yuanchun, Xue Baochai, Lin Daiyu, Qin Keqing.

周佳琪告诉极目新闻记者，网友看到的短视频一期是30秒左右，她在视频之外花的时间可能是一个星期或者一个月，达到仿妆和表演“以假乱真”的效果，全靠“用心”二字。

Zhou told Jimu News, a 30-second video would take her one week or even one month to plan and film. It is her “concentrated efforts” that make her imitated make-up looks and performance realistic and convincing.

网友以为，她自己动手做道具，是为了视频效果，“主要是为了省钱，自己做更便宜！还有一点是我有强迫症，要仿妆就必须让每一根头发丝都是一样的，市面上买半成品达不到我要的效果。”周佳琪说。

周佳琪毕业于华中科技大学医学院，大三的时候，跟同学走进了短视频创作的赛道。化妆是周佳琪的特长，跟很多老师学习过，所以她选择做化妆类古风小视频，拍自己的创意妆容。

谈及这组在网上引起网友追捧的《红楼梦》人物仿妆系列，怎么做到如此形似神似，周佳琪说，人物要相似，必须各个细节都要到位。“我自己特别喜欢87版的《红楼梦》，里面所有的片段，我都一点一点琢磨，然后选取最能代表人物性格的桥段来演绎。”

When it comes to the level of similarity of these make-up imitation series of characters in A Dream of Red Mansions, which went viral on the Internet, Zhou Jiaqi said that paying attention to all the details was vital in making the characters look similar to the original. “I like the 1987 TV drama version of A Dream of Red Mansions shot by CCTV. I studied all the clips closely bit by bit, and then chose to imitate the segments that best represented the characters" personalities.”

效果最好的一期视频是哪一期？周佳琪说，是仿妆贾元春的视频。这一期流量最高，播放量上百万。同时，也是她花费精力最多的一期。从准备到拍摄，前前后后花了一个月的时间。“贾元春穿戴的服饰头饰，都很华贵，光是穿那些配饰上的小珠子，我就穿了一个星期。”

“我是扒皮呀”视频账号火了之后，也有网友觉得这个名字好奇怪，跟古风完全不搭呀。

After the video channel of “I"m Bapi” gained popularity, some netizens thought the name was so strange that it didn"t match at all with the genre of ancient content.

周佳琪向极目新闻记者解释说，“因为我叫周佳琪，小学的时候有个同桌很调皮，给我取外号叫我‘周扒皮’，之后大家都叫我‘扒皮’，索性我就用了这个外号作为社交媒体账号，拍小视频的时候没有想到会这么火，后来想改个名字，又怕大家找不到我，就没有改。”

Zhou Jiaqi explained to the Jimu News reporter, “Because my name is Zhou Jiaqi, my naughty desk-mate gave me a nickname ‘Zhou Bapi’ during primary school. After that, my classmates all called me ‘Bapi’. So, I used this nickname as my social media account name. I didn"t expect to go this viral when I shot the short videos. When I later wanted to change my name, I was concerned that some followers would not be able to find me, and so I didn"t change it.”

目前，周佳琪生活在杭州，她说，对于做短视频的博主来说，在哪里生活差别不大。

At present, Zhou Jiaqi lives in Hangzhou. She said that for bloggers who make short videos, it doesn"t matter where one lives.

视频博主的收入情况怎么样？周佳琪坦言，并没有大家想象的那么高，一年平均下来，跟普通上班族的收入差不多。“收入主要是品牌投放，有时候整个月没有收入，有时候一个月能有几万块。”

When it comes to the income of a video blogger, Zhou Jiaqi said honestly that it is not as high as others think, and is similar to the income of ordinary office workers in a year on average. “Income is mainly from brand sponsorships. Sometimes there is no income in a whole month, but sometimes tens of thousands of Yuan a month.”

“我是扒皮呀” 仿妆视频火了之后，也有博主模仿周佳琪。极目新闻记者问她，是否在意别人的模仿？现在短视频赛道越来越卷了，是否感觉到了压力？周佳琪说：“这个赛道上的人肯定会越来越多，我不介意大家都卷一卷，卷一卷之后，大家都更厉害！”

After going viral, some bloggers imitated Zhou Jiaqi"s way of making make-up imitation videos. Zhou Jiaqi said: “There will definitely be more and more people in this area.
